Shane McGrath

He was born approximately a mile from Carnalway in Kilcullen, County Kildare. Since his youth, he has been swimming, living and canoeing at Carnalway.

Years later, he began imagining a new international tournament based on Ireland’s sporting inheritance. Only then did historical scholarship lead him back to the landscape associated with Óenach Carmain.
